UPDATE (March 1, 2017 5 p.m.): Luis Ortega-Romero was booked on a charge of voluntary manslaughter. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday and is due in court March 13.

A man has been taken into custody in connection with a deadly shooting in East Bakersfield. 

Bakersfield Police confirming with 23ABC that 27-year-old Luis Alberto Romero was taken into custody Monday night. 

On Monday morning,  a man was found shot to death in the street in the area of Lincoln and King streets. 

The victim has not yet been identified.
