BPD arrests man for burglarizing Monica's Athletic Footwear early Monday morning

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man is behind bars after officials said he burglarized Monica's Athletic Footwear early Monday morning.

According to BPD, cops responded to a burglary alarm at the shoe store located on California Avenue around 2:29 a.m. When officials arrived, they reportedly spotted 31-year-old Ryan Ramirez leaving out the store before getting in a car in the parking lot.

After Bakersfield police started an investigation, they were able to stop Ramirez and detain him without incident.

Officials said Ramirez had several stolen items on him from Monica's Athletic Footwear including multiple firearms and ammunition that were allegedly kept in the office of the store.

Ramirez was arrested for burglary, felon in possession of a firearm, and several other felony firearms related violations. He's been transported and booked into the Kern County jail.
