BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield Police announced the arrest of a 34-year-old man in connection with the deadly street racing crash on Old River Road.

According to officials, Israel Maldonado who was allegedly the driver of a Dodge Ram in the incident was arrested Wednesday for reckless driving, reckless driving causing injury, engaging in a speed contest and gross vehicular manslaughter.

Earlier this week BPD also arrested Ronald Pierce, 50, in connection to the deadly street racing crash that killed Maria Navarro, 57, and put her two grandchildren in the hospital. Pierce has been charged with second-degree murder.
