BPD arrest two for weapon and drug charges

On Friday, February 19, 2016 at about 2:40 a.m., Bakersfield Police Officers attempted to stop a vehicle related to a brandishing of a firearm in the area of Brundage Ln. and Union Ave.
 
The vehicle failed to yield and led officers on a pursuit westbound Hwy. 58. During the pursuit, a loaded .25 caliber pistol and a large amount of methamphetamine were thrown out the window of the vehicle. The vehicle continued for a short distance where it then stopped.
 
The driver and passenger were taken into custody without incident. Both items thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit were recovered by officers.
 
The two suspects were linked to a room at the Villa Inn where a search was conducted. A loaded 9mm pistol was located inside that room. Arrested were Christopher Davis (5-3-78) and Elias Olmedo (11-11-86) both of Bakersfield.
 
They were both booked into the Kern County Jail Central Receiving Facility on various weapons and narcotics related charges.
