BPD: Missing 12-year-old found safe

UPDATE (4:37 a.m.) Bakersfield Police say 12-year-old Jeremiah Copeland has been found unharmed.


BPD is asking for the public's help in locating a missing, at-risk 12-year-old boy.

Jeremiah Copeland was last seen leaving Thompson Junior High School on Monday, November 26 around 3:30 p.m. Thompson Junior High is located at 4200 Planz Road in Southwest Bakersfield.

Copeland is described as a 12-year-old white male, 5 ft. tall, 80 pounds, with short blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and Converse shoes.

Copeland is believed to be at-risk due to his age. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.

23ABC received a call from Jeremiah's stepmother, Samantha Copeland, who believes that the child may be with his biological mother.
