Bakersfield Police's bomb squad investigated a suspicious object found in Central Bakersfield Wednesday afternoon. The package turned out to be a box inside a box with no explosive or dangerous material inside.

The object was reported in the area of 34th and Chester around 2:15 p.m. 

Valley Oaks Charter School was locked down as a precaution and several surrounding businesses were evacuated.

The intersection and surrounding streets were blocked for about an hour during the investigation.
