Bakersfield Police busted six illegal marijuana dispensaries in Bakersfield on Monday.
BPD said the dispensaries that were served search warrants on Nov. 6 had been previously made aware of their illegal status by the City Attorney's Office, but refused to comply.
As a result of the search warrants, eight misdemeanor arrests were made, BPD said. One firearm, $6500, and a large amount of marijuana was also seized.
Code Enforcement Officers determined the structure of the dispensaries were unsafe for occupancy as many structural violations were discovered. All six of the dispensaries were deemed uninhabitable due to the hazardous conditions observed, BPD said.
BPD said they will continue to serve warrants of marijuana dispensaries. Since Oct. 1, a total of 48 marijuana dispensaries have been shut down.
