As part of National Police Week, the Bakersfield Police Department will honor the men who lost their lives in the line of duty.

On Thursday morning, the police department will hold a ceremony in front of BPD headquarters. That ceremony is set to start at 7 a.m.

Later Thursday, the department will host a county-wide ceremony at the Kern County Peace Officers' Memorial at 1415 Truxtun. That memorial is set to begin at noon.
