BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Wednesday night at around 11 p.m. the Bakersfield Police Department responded to Hosking Ave. and Hughes Lane for an accident that left one man dead.
According to the BPD, a vehicle traveling westbound on Hosking Ave. turned in front of another vehicle traveling eastbound on Hosking Ave. at the intersection of Hughes Lane when the vehicles collided. The male driver believed to be responsible for causing the accident, 72-year-old Elias Samarripas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The female driver and her male passenger from the other vehicle were transported to Kern Medical with minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
