Bakersfield police are investigating a deadly shooting that has left one person dead in Central Bakersfield.
Around 12:33 a.m., police responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of M Street near 8th Street, according to BPD. Officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Gabriel Gomez of Bakersfield.
BPD said the suspect is being described as a man driving in a black four-door vehicle, similar to a Nissan Altima.
