Officers with the Bakersfield Police Department are investigating the death of a 3-week old infant at a hotel on Chester Avenue Sunday morning.
At about 9:18 a.m. officers responded to the Downtowner Inn, located in the 1300 block of Chester Avenue regarding a baby not breathing.
When BPD arrived to the scene, officers discovered a 3-week-old infant not breathing in a room.
Officers and medical personnel performed CPR, and medical aid, but were unable to revive the infant.
Tragically the infant was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigation personnel responded and assumed the investigation.
