A fatal vehicle versus pedestrian accident was reported at McKee Road and Ashe Road in Southwest Bakersfield Tuesday morning just before 10 a.m.

Police said a truck was traveling southbound when they struck a female pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female was jogging westbound across the south portion of the intersection in an unmarked cross walk.

The driver stopped to report the accident.

Alcohol, drugs, and speed do not appear to be a factor in the crash, according to BPD.
