BPD searching for two suspects involved in House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy office burglary

The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating two suspects who burglarized House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy's office.

According to BPD, on October 21 around 7:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a business burglary at Congressman McCarthy's office located at 4101 Empire Drive, Suite #150 in Northwest Bakersfield. BPD says that two men used a large rock to shatter an office window and gain entry. They then stole several items, including electronics. According to BPD, none of the items taken contained sensitive information, and the electronics were not connected to any federal networks.

The first suspect is described as a White Male, 20-30 years old, with blonde or brown hair and clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat with a teal colored bill and the letters "CALI" on the front, dark colored t-shirt, dark gym shorts with blue stripes on the side, white socks, black Under Armor shoes, and a pink backpack. The second suspect is described as a White Male, 20-30 years old, with light colored medium length hair. He was last seen wearing a light colored long sleeve t-shirt and dark colored pants.

BPD says the Capitol Police were notified. The Congressman and his staff were out of the office at the time of the offense.
