BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Early Sunday morning officers responded to the 7700 Block of Vaquero Avenue regarding a call to assist the Fire Department with an unknown situation.

Once officers arrived on scene they received no response and forced entry into the residents to check the welfare of the occupants inside.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department they found a deceased adult female who appeared to be the victim of a homicide.

Later a male subject was detained at the scene and was later transported to a local hospital for injuries.
