BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man has died following a shooting in southeast Bakersfield on Thursday.

Police responded to the 800 block of Melwood Street around 4:30 p.m., where they found a man shot in the south alley.

He was taken to Kern Medical where he later died, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

The man's identity will be released by the Kern County Coroner's Office.
