For more than 30 years law enforcement in Kern County has joined forces to provide meals to families during Christmastime.
On Thursday morning, the Kern County Sheriff's Office, along with the Bakersfield Police Department will gather, partnering with W.A. Thompson Distributors, to deliver 500 food baskets to families around the county.
The project, now in its 34th year, will law enforcement officials stuff two large boxes with food and give them to families.
According to KCSO, the boxes will have turkey, potatoes, onions, dry beans, oranges, apples, canned goods, chips, sodas, bread, stuffing, yams, margarine and other foods.
KCSO will also provide underprivileged children with new, unwrapped toys.
