A knife-wielding man high on the synthetic drug Spice was arrested by Bakersfield Police officers after a brief standoff Thursday, a police spokesman said.
Officers said they received calls at 7:50 a.m. about a man armed with a knife and cutting his own clothing in the area of 30th and F Streets. When police arrived, they said they found Shean Bradford, 49, armed with a knife and asking officers to kill him.
Officers were eventually able to convince Bradford to drop the knife and he was taken into custody on suspicion of several charges, including being under the influence of Spice, said BPD Sgt. Gary Carruesco in a press release.
