A Bakersfield Police officer has been placed on administrative leave after a social media post surfaced of the officer handling a firearm in an unsafe way, according to BPD.

BPD says it happened Sunday afternoon at the third annual Bakersfield Marathon. The officer was standing at a fixed post when the incident happened.
