UPDATE (8/24): The Coroner's Office said the fetus found floating in the water at Mill Creek Park on August 14 died of Intrauterine Demise of Unknown Etiology. It is still unclear how old the fetus was, where it died or how exactly.

Bakersfield Police received a call about a fetus floating in the water at Mill Creek Park Monday afternoon around 2 p.m.
Officers were able to locate the fetus, but when they pulled it out, it was deceased, Sgt. Kroeker said.
BPD does not have any information about the fetus's age or where it was born. They are currently investigating this case.
