BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Department is investigating a collision involving a train and a pedestrian on Garces Circle Bridge.
According to officials, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a Union Pacific train struck a pedestrian near mile post 311. The man was transported to Kern Medical where he died.
The train crew was not injured and the incident is still under investigation.
