A marijuana dispensary was burglarized Wednesday night at 301 34th Street in Central Bakersfield.
Bakersfield police heard gunfire in the 34th Street and San Dimas Street area around 11:15 p.m. and then received a call about a business burglary in the area.
The business owner, 57-year-old Tom Pham, was inside an unattached building adjacent to the dispensary when he got an alarm notification.
Pham armed himself, went outside, and fired several shots into the air to scare the suspect, the report said. The suspect fled west.
A perimeter was established and the business was cleared. Pham was arrested for negligent discharge of a firearm.
Anyone with information on the case is encouraged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 661-327-7111.
