BPD arrests suspicious person in Bakersfield

Bakersfield Police Department  officials released the following statement:
 
On October 1, 2015, at 7:40 am, Bakersfield police officers were dispatched to the Stanford Ct. and Berkley St. regarding a suspicious person in the area annoying juveniles. 
 
When officers arrived they learned that a suspect described as a: Hispanic male, early 40’s, 5’6”-8”, medium build, short hair, wearing a blue dodgers hat and shirt and blue jeans
 
He had contacted several juveniles in the area on their way to school and acted like was going to expose himself to them and invited one into a nearby park. 
 
The suspect was last seen traveling southbound on Dartmouth St. crossing Columbus St. on foot at about
8:12 am.
 
At 9:14 am, officers located 39 year old Bakersfield resident Jesse Cortez who matched the suspect description at Jefferson St. and Baker St. Cortez was positively identified by witnesses and arrested for two counts of Annoying a Juvenile. 
 
He was booked into the  Kern County Jail.
