BPD seizes multiple firearms overnight

Two separate firearms were seized by law enforcement overnight and arrests were made in connection to gang participation.

The first happened around 8 p.m. on Friday night. Officers say the occupants discarded a .45 Glock after being stopped, which police later recovered. The driver of the vehicle was 44-year-old Jaime Soto, and two juveniles were also in the vehicle.

Soto was arrested for several charges, including vehicle violations, illegal possession of a firearm, and gang participation. Bail is currently set at $1,000,000.

The other incident happened around 11:30 p.m. when officers discovered a loaded Glock after making a vehicle stop.

20-year-olds Levonte Burton, David Grandson, and Michael Dorrough were all arrested on multiple charges, including illegal possession of a firearm, conspiracy, and gang participation.

Burton was additionally charged with vehicle violations.
