The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a possible sexual assault. The location of where the assault took place is unknown, however BPD conducted part of their investigation at Centennial High School Wednesday afternoon, leaving parents worried.

Stephanie Evans was dropping her son off for his first high school dance when she noticed the police cars. She says if the assault did not happen on campus, they should not be conducting the investigation in such a public place.

"If it didn't happen on campus, why would you investigate here?" said Evans.

Centennial's principal did speak with 23ABC and said the assault did not happen on campus, but the incident was reported to a staff member.
