BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department is reminding drivers to pay close attention out on the streets with a compilation video of "near misses."

The video shows several clips from a red light camera depicting vehicles illegally running the red light and nearly hitting other vehicles.

BPD is asking all drivers to pay attention at intersections and remember the rules of the road.

According to data analysis performed by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, "More than two people are killed every day on U.S. roads by impatient and reckless drivers blowing through red lights."
