BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department says social media threats directed toward a local junior high school are not credible.

BPD responded to a home Thursday night regarding threats towards Thompson Jr. High by a former student.

Police say an Instagram post contained a picture of several guns and commentary.

According to BPD, the photo of the guns had been taken off the internet from a news article out of Sacramento.

Officers say the former student who was allegedly involved was cooperative.
