BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man has been arrested, suspected of robbing a Bakersfield bank on Wednesday.
Bakersfield Police say David Charles Smith, 66, was identified and arrested about two hours after the robbery.
Police say Smith entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 1300 22nd Street and "committed a robbery" around 4:38 p.m. The robber then left the scene, but was described as an older white man with a small build and a white beard.
About two hours later Smith was identified as a suspect and was taken into custody without incident. Police say Smith was found with evidence linking him to the robbery.
Smith is due to be arraigned in court on a single robbery charge on Friday, Aug. 2.
