BPD: Woman fires at would-be thieves

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Wednesday, January 23, at approximately 11 a.m., officers were dispatched near 8000 North Laurelglen Boulevard regarding a residential burglary.

After officers arrived, they learned that the resident, an adult woman heard noises coming from her garage, when she investigated, she was confronted by two suspects, who she then shot at with her legally possessed firearm, at which the suspects fled. It is unknown if either of the suspects were struck by the shot that was fired.

The suspects are described as:

1. White or Hispanic man in his early 20s with a light complexion at 5 feet 9 inches with a slim build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants.

2. White or Hispanic man in his early 20s with light complexion at 5 feet 4 inches with a slim build. He was also wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants.

The use of force by the homeowner will be reviewed. No arrests were made.
