BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department's Bomb Squad was called out to a southeast Bakersfield business Wednesday morning after receiving reports of a suspicious device.
Officers responded to Copart Auto Auctions on Coy Lane at 7:14 a.m. after an alleged explosive device was found inside of a nearby car.
The Bomb Squad inspected the inside of the car and found an object that appeared to be a pipe bomb.
There was no explosive material found and the Bomb Squad rendered the device safe.
No one was hurt in the investigation.
