BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. --- — The Bakersfield Police Department says one of their sergeants was arrested for suspicion of DUI shortly after 1 p.m. this afternoon.

Sergeant Jeff Saso, who was off duty during the incident, crashed his motorcycle into the center median near the 3500 block of Rosedale Highway, according to BPD.

Saso was traveling westbound, lost control, and struck the center median, a BPD press release says.

Saso "sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment," the press release said.

A passenger riding with Saso sustained minor visible injuries and refused medical aid, according to the release.

Saso was placed under administrative leave while BPD conducts their investigation.
