Officials said three officers are dead and three are injured in a shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Officials said the shooting happened around 8:45 a.m.
In a phone interview with ABC News, the city's mayor, Kip Holden, said officers reportedly responded to a shots fired call when someone opened fire on the officers.
Officials said the situation is ongoing, but the scene is "contained."
A local hospital confirmed to ABC News that they are dealing with a multiple casualty event.
