The brother of Bakersfield city councilman Andrae Gonzales has tested positive for COVID-19.
The councilman posted on Facebook on Wednesday saying his younger brother, who lives in Los Angeles, recently tested positive.
"Thankfully, he followed the CDC guidelines and quarantined himself as soon as he learned he was exposed to the virus at his place of employment. He’s been sick for over 12 days now, showing only mild symptoms, and is doing well. I spoke with him today over the phone and he sounds great. Thank God."
Gonzales said it's been about three weeks since he last saw his brother at a regular family get together. He said his mom has since been quarantined.
