The Fort Fire, burning just north of Lebec off Interstate 5 near Grapevine Rd. has reached 350 acres and is 40% contained, according to the Kern County Fire Department.
Crews were called out to the area just before 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning. KCFD said no structures are threatened.
The California Highway Patrol is reporting that the #4 lane of southbound I-5 has been closed.
