Buena Vista Museum hosting rock, mineral, fossil sale

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Looking for a unique gift to give your rock this Valentine's Day? The Buena Vista Museum of Natural History & Science is hosting a rock, mineral, and fossil sale.

The sale will include minerals and crystals from Mexico, China, India, and the U.S., as well as fossils from Kern County's Sharktooth Hill. The sale will also include lapidary rocks, including petrified wood and spheres.

The museum is also offering free on-site identification for unknown rocks.

The Buena Vista Museum 2019 Rock, Mineral, and Fossil Sale will be held Saturday, February 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, February 3 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Doors open at 9 a.m. on Saturday for Buena Vista Museum members. The Buena Vista Museum of Natural History & Science is located at 2018 Chester Avenue in Central Bakersfield.
