Kevin Jewelers burglarized in Valley Plaza Mall

UPDATE (Nov. 14, 7:56 p.m.): Bakersfield Police confirm the two men who burglarized Kevin Jewelers in the Valley Plaza Mall Tuesday afternoon used a sledge hammer to smash the glass. 

The manager of Kevin Jewelers said the store has been open for eight months.

BPD said they currently have no leads on the two suspects.

UPDATE (Nov. 14, 2:56 p.m.): Bakersfield Police said they received a call of a burglary inside Valley Plaza Mall at 2:07 p.m. on Tuesday.

BPD said two black men with hoods on smashed one of the windows of Kevin Jewelers. Officers said the men fled the mall with an unknown amount of jewelry.

Police are unsure whether or not they were armed. No injuries were reported. 

Valley Plaza Mall will remain open as police investigate.

No other information was immediately available.
