The CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive has helped families throughout California for more than 25 years and this will be the seventh year for this event in Kern County.
The California Highway Patrol, along with other local organizations and businesses, said they look forward to this event, giving less fortunate kids in Kern County something to smile about during the holiday season.
The toy drive begins Wednesday, November 16, 2016 and end Friday, December 16, 2016.
The public can help by bringing a new unwrapped toy to the C-H-P office on Buck Owens Blvd., Motor City (in the Auto Mall), the Bakersfield Californian, Keller Williams on Truxtun Ave, Quad Knopf Inc on California Ave, United Way on Stockdale Hwy and both Carneceria la Carreta locations.
On Wednesday, December 7, 2016 CHP will be downtown at the Bakersfield Californian, on the corner of 18th and H street, from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a toy drop off event. Drop off your new unwrapped toy and be on your way in no time.
Toys collected from the drive will benefit local children from 0 to 16 years of age. If you have any questions or need additional information on drop off locations please contact public information officer Robert Rodriguez, at (661) 864-4440.
