UPDATE (Oct. 31 10:40 a.m.) California City officials determined that the man found injured this morning was harmed by suspects during a home invasion robbery.

Officers responded to a home on Reed Place for a report of a male bleeding near a home after midnight on Tuesday. The man escaped from his home after the suspects entered his house.

A witness described the suspects as 3 black males with masks and had entered the front of the home.

The suspects, armed with at least one firearm, took an undisclosed amount of cash from the home.

The gunmen fled in a dark colored SUV toward North Loop Blvd.

An assault that took place overnight left a California City man in serious condition. He was then airlifted to a local hospital.

Officers responded to a home near Randsburg Mojave Road and North Loop Boulevard and are still investigating the incident.
