CAL FIRE confiscates more than 50,000 pounds of illegal fireworks

With the Fourth of July right around the corner, CAL FIRE officials are working to crack down on the use of illegal fireworks around California.

On Thursday, CAL FIRE officials announced that more than 50,000 pounds of illegal fireworks had been confiscated and seven arrests have been made over the last two weeks. 

A CAL FIRE press release states that a long investigation into the illegal fireworks ring took place in multiple locations around California. 

The cities in which arrests were made are: Copperopolis, Heyward, Modesto, Oakland, Salida and Walnut Creek.
