California City school placed on temporary lock down following reports of man with gun

Robert P. Ulrich Elementary was temporarily placed on an emergency lockdown after police received a report of a man running toward the school with a gun according to California City Police.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., police responded to a call of a man armed with a handgun running toward the school.

According to police, a caller reported being involved in an argument with a man who had brandished a possible handgun. The caller told police that the suspect was running toward the school. Officers arrived to the school within a minute and spotted the subject.

As a precaution, the police department notified the school and the school was placed on a temporary lock-down.

The suspect, 41-year-old Jonathan Perkins was arrested for weapons violations. No injuries were reported.
