With tongue firmly planted in cheek, the California Highway Patrol announced that they had found a battery pack on the on-ramp of Interstate 5 Friday morning.
"DID YOU LOSE YOUR BATTERY OUT OF YOUR TESLA," asked the CHP on Facebook. "At 0630 hours this large battery was located on the southbound on-ramp to Interstate 5 from Laval Road. If you are experiencing a significant loss of power or noticed poor acceleration, give us a call we may be able to re-unite you with your long lost battery pack."
Fortunately, the battery pack was not located on the interstate, so it did not affect traffic or cause any back-ups.
CalTrans and Kern County Environmental Health handled the environmental clean-up
The CHP also took the time to remind drivers to be aware of possible traffic hazards.
"Remember traffic hazards can appear anywhere at anytime. Always drive at a safe speed for conditions."
