UPDATE (12:15 p.m.): California Highway Patrol Officer Larry Boshers said officials are trying to determine exactly when the crash happened Sunday.

Officer Boshers said the vehicle appears to have been traveling westbound on Di Giorgio Road, east of Towerline Road when the driver allowed the vehicle to drift off the north side of the roadway into the dirt.

Officials said it appears the driver tried to regain control, crossed both lanes of traffic, and drove into a carrot field.

The vehicle then appeared to roll.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said it's unclear if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this crash.
