The California Highway Patrol is investigating an overnight crash west of Delano that turned deadly. 

CHP officials said officers responded to Garces Highway and Highway 43 at midnight for a rollover crash. 

Officers said the investigation showed a 33-year-old Wasco man was operating a vehicle southbound on Highway 43, south of Garces Highway at an undetermined high rate of speed. 

For unknown reasons he failed to navigate a curve and the vehicle left the roadway, rolling several times. 

The man was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. 

Officials said it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
