BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol is investigating a major injury crash that happened on Highway 99 Thursday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol's traffic website, the crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on Northbound Highway 99 near Highway 166.

There were multiple vehicles involved in the crash, according to the website. At least one person had major injuries.

Northbound traffic was blocked for more than an hour as crews worked to clean up the scene.

Information was not immediately available about what led to the crash.
