California Highway Patrol involved in officer-involved shooting while serving arrest warrant

California Highway Patrol was serving an arrest warrant around 6:00 a.m. at a home located at 636 Beverly in East Bakersfield when they were met by gunfire, according to Officer Robert Rodriguez with the California Highway Patrol. 

Officers did return gunfire, Rodriguez said. There were four people inside of the home, three people did come out of the home while one person barricaded themselves inside. That person was eventually safely recovered, according to California Highway Patrol. 

There is currently no suspect information. The officer involved shooting investigation is being handled by the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
