BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — On Sunday the California Living Museum announced on their Facebook page that Mary Moreland had passed away. Moreland was a CALM founder, as well as a former member of the Board of Directors. She was with the organization for 37 years.
In the Facebook post, CALM said that Moreland was "sweet, kind, funny and supportive of not only the zoo, but of the staff. She helped educate thousands of children (and adults) about native wildlife, put in countless hours volunteering, was on numerous fundraising committees --- she was always here ready and willing to help."
The statement went on to thank Moreland's husband, Carl, and daughter Krista for "sharing Mary with us for so many years."
