BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — California Water officials tell 23ABC that water has been restored in East Bakersfield following a shut off Saturday evening.
Officials say the shutoff was due to a malfunction that took place in the monitoring software that normally alerts the utility of low storage tank levels.
Officials have issued a precautionary boil water advisory for part of Northeast Bakersfield.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience to them and are working to conduct water quality testing as quickly as possible, so that they can resume normal water use as soon as possible," said District Manager Geoff Fulks.
California Water will hold a water distribution center at Noble Elementary School from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday. Water distributions will continue on Monday.
Officials say impacted customers who buy bottled water during the advisory, can save their receipts to be reimbursed. For more information click here.
