Caltrans announces long-term lane closures on the 99

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Department of Transportation has announced that there will be long-term lane closures on SR 99 starting Monday to begin the construction of the Bakersfield 99 Rehab project.

The following closures will be in effect:
The #1 lane of Northbound 99 will be closed between the 58 over crossing and the 204 over crossing starting Tuesday, January 29.

The #1 lane of Southbound 99 will be closed between Olive Avenue and the 58 starting Thursday, January 31. There will also be nightly closures, reducing the Southbound 99 to 2 lanes Monday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night.

The closures are expected to continue through the end of April 2019. Additional project-related closures will be added as the project progresses, which is expected to be full completed in Spring of 2021.
