The Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with MCM Construction, announces a long-term closure of the Kern Avenue Pedestrian Overcrossing starting next week in McFarland for installation of a new pedestrian overcrossing.

This $4.2 million project will replace the current Kern Avenue Pedestrian Overcrossing with a new, ADA-compliant pedestrian overcrossing. The current overcrossing will be closed through the end of 2017.

The following closure will be in effect:

·         The Kern Avenue Pedestrian Overcrossing will be closed starting Tuesday, March 7th through the end of 2017.  

Closures may continue for longer periods of time if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur during construction procedures.
