Candlelight walk in support of sexual assault survivors Sunday night

Posted
and last updated

The community is gathering during the We Believe Women march on Sunday, September 23 at 7 p.m.

The march is in support of women who are victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.

The walk also supports Dr. Christine Blasey, the woman who accused Supreme Court Justice nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, of sexually assaulting her when they were in college.

The march is at the Kern County Liberty Bell in Central Bakersfield.

You can take signs, a candle or any light source to display unity of support.

On the events Facebook page organizers said, "We must demand victims are treated with dignity and respect. Until that happens, these assaults will continue to go unreported and that means we ALL suffer. We stand in solidarity with ALL victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and seek justice on their behalf."
