and last updated

Kern County voters had two cannabis measures on Tuesday's ballot and rejected both.

The Kern County Elections Office is reporting Measure D, which authorized medical marijuana dispensaries to operate without a conditional use permit in Kern County and imposed a special business tax, failed. The Elections Office reports 60 percent of voters voted against Measure D.

Measure E would have allowed medical marijuana dispensaries to operate with a conditional use permit and impose a 3.5% special business tax. Voters also voted against Measure E, with 58 percent voting against it and 42 percent in favor.

The Elections Office is reporting 100 percent of precincts, however the results are still unofficial.
